Wellness

Architecture for saunas, bathhouses, and wellness spaces, shaped by heat, water, and ritual.

Why This Studio

I did not come to this typology from the outside. Long before I was designing wellness spaces, I was a patron of them, and I understand how a bathhouse or spa actually gets used, not just how it gets built. I know how a body moves through a space that is built for both exposure and retreat, how a corridor can lead someone toward company or away from it, and how the same building can hold a crowded room and a private one within a few feet of each other, without either one compromising the other. That understanding shapes every plan before a single wall goes up.

A wellness space is not a room with a hot tub in it. It is a sequence: arrival, heat, cold, rest, and repeat. But it is also a study in proximity. Every good bathhouse holds a full range of experience under one roof, communal spaces built for visibility and gathering, and quieter rooms built for privacy and distance from the crowd. The architecture has to hold both without either one feeling like an afterthought.

One architect, from the first idea to the last detail of the build.

Hydrothermal spaces are some of the most technically demanding to get right, and some of the most costly to get wrong. Feinstein House is built to carry a wellness project from the first conversation through the day the doors open, with one point of contact managing the vision, the consultants, and the details.

I stay attached to a project the way any good bathhouse stays attached to its community, through every phase, every consultant, and every detail, until the space is actually open and in use.
